LaGrange College's Alpha Alpha Nu chapter of Pi Sigma Alpha, the National Political Science Honor Society, has been awarded a Best Chapter Award for 2025-2026. This is the third time that the chapter has received this award.
“These awards are intended to recognize local chapters that are particularly active in their institutions and communities and embody our society’s mission to stimulate scholarship and intellectual interest in political science,” said Tanya B. Schwarz, PhD, Executive Director of Pi Sigma Alpha, in an email announcing the honor. “Professor (John) Tures serves as faculty advisor to the chapter and should be recognized for his extraordinary leadership and dedication to the students who are members of the chapter.”
Tures, Chair of the college’s Political Science Department, was quick to credit the students for the award.
“It's all about what the students do, from conference presentations and columns to moot court and mock trial, as well as lobbying at the capitol and registering voters,” Tures noted. “It's very much their show. This is our first back-to-back national championship in political science for LaGrange College, and our third since the pandemic. This is really special for our students.”
